Second Anniversary-December 17th, 2012
Two full years have passed... Time is said to heal all wounds. That may be true for some wounds, but those that are deep and vast beyond limits are hidden in the deepest recesses but never erased from memory. These wounds awaken to reignite the pain that has long faded but forever remains to last an eternity...
“No truth can cure the sorrow we feel from losing a loved one. No truth, no sincerity, no strength, no kindness can cure that sorrow. All we can do is see it through to the end and learn something from it, but what we learn will be no help in facing the next sorrow that comes to us without warning.”
Haruki Murakami, Norwegian Wood

Golly, I tried to read Murakami, but couldn't. Maybe if I'd persisted, I'd have found that lovely quote.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments. If you have the opportunity, do see the movie or read the book whose title is "Norwegian Wood" to cast that quote in its proper context. It's a great movie.
ReplyDeleteOh, that is so ironic. "Norwegian Wood" is the name of the color plastered on all the boxes that our new windows came. Creepy.
ReplyDeleteSo, I looked up "Norwegian Wood,"and gad. It's just chock full of death, isn't it? Have you seen the movie "Turkish Delight" with Rutger Hauer? I'd wager it has about as much sex, and death, but is a bit more uplifting.... No?
